Available SoftBank mail services depend on handset model. Please check which services are available for your handset.
From July 13, 2011, SMS messages can be sent to/received from mobile phone devices other than SoftBank and Disney Mobile on SoftBank handsets.

*1 White Plan subscribers can send SMS messages to SoftBank and Disney Mobile on SoftBank at no charge. Sending SMS messages to a Mimamori Camera costs ¥3.15/message.

Description

SMS is a service that provides messaging between phone numbers. Sending and receiving SMS messages are free of charge between SoftBank handsets (for White Plan and Gold Plan subscribers).
SMS messages received from other carriers are free of charge ^*1.

Delivery Confirmation	Before sending a message, activate Delivery Report to receive confirmation upon successful delivery ^*2.
Retry Function	When the Center receives an undeliverable message, delivery is attempted at regular intervals until successful or delivery time expires. When recipient's handset is off or out-of-range, messages are delivered upon recipient re-entering service area without having to retrieve manually ^*3.
Automatic Sorting	On handset, customize or create message folders to automatically sort incoming/outgoing messages by sender/recipient address. Alternatively, designate Subject field text to sort S! Mail, or Message field text to sort SMS.
Pictographs	Express feelings beyond text with pictographs ^*4. Select from 471 pictographs and animated pictographs.
International Use	Apply for Global Roaming Service to use International SMS when outside Japan.

*1 Sending SMS messages costs ¥3.15/message.
*2 Not available for messages sent to multiple addresses. Maximum message length varies depending on handset model. Service providers outside Japan may not support SMS.
*3 SMS expiry is 72 hours; 24 hours under some network conditions. Undeliverable messages are deleted.
*4 Displayable pictographs/animated pictographs vary depending on handset model.

Description

Send Sha-Mail and Movie Sha-Mail and enjoy the Mail Art Function worldwide!

Movie Sha-mail	Shoot and send video clips with sound. Change font size and color as well as background color and images. Set multiple slides to alternate between each at intervals. Attach music to mail for added enjoyment.
Mail Art Function	Create and send exciting mail slides. Video clips up to approx. 1 min ^*1. can be sent directly. Moving images containing your voice express the feeling of "being there." Add frames or change shooting modes for a unique and original movie.
Sha-mail	Shoot and send still pictures anytime, anywhere. Decorate shots with pre-installed frames, stamps and super-imposed text.
Pictographs	Express feelings with pictographs ^2. Express feelings beyond text with pictographs ^3. Select from 471 pictographs and animated pictographs.
Overseas Use	Can be used in Japan and overseas. Send messages to SMS and Sky Mail compatible handsets while overseas just by entering handsets phone number. Send text messages with multiple attached files up to a combined total of 300 KB.
Useful and Convenient Functions	Phone Number Mail All mail can be sent between SoftBank handsets using only your phone number. Delivery Confirmation Notice After sending e-mail, receive a free notice confirming successful delivery ^*4. Retry Function When the Center receives mail for you, it will continue trying to send it to you until successfully delivered or mail delivery time expires. If your handset was out of range, any mail received will be delivered automatically once you re-enter service area without having to manually connect to the Center. Automatic Sorting Mail from different groups or individuals, such as friends, family, etc. can be automatically separated into different folders.
