< Software Update Precautions >
- If your handset has history of a failure, water-damage or any other damage, installing the update in the handset may sometimes erase data you saved on it. We recommend that you back up the data before you start the update.
- Before you start upgrading the software, be sure to turn off your handset in order to end all programs currently running and turn it on again to start upgrading it.
- While you are installing the update, keep enough battery level and connect your handset to the charger as well; low battery during the update may cause an update failure.
- Get best signal strength on your handset and do not navigate when you install the update.
- Installing the update may take some time to complete. (This may take about 30 minutes depending on condition of your wireless connection.)
- Disconnect a USB cable, if connected.
- Do not remove a battery during the software update. If the update is not completed in about more than 30 minutes, remove the battery and reinsert it before a retry. If the retry still fails, bring the handset to your nearest SoftBank shop.
- While a software upgrade is progressing, all the other functions of a handset are disabled. In other words, when the other functions are active, the update can not be installed.
- Packet transmission fees do not apply when you install updates (including checking, downloading and rewriting).
