1. Can I use Global Roaming compatible handset on any airline?

Only on compatible airlines and flights.
Usage depends on airline conditions and necessary equipment.

2. Can I use my phone on domestic flights?

Usage is limited to international flights.

3. Can I also use Mail, Web and Video Call?

SMS is available; S! Mail (MMS), Web, Video Call, and internet access are not.

4. Is any application required?

No need to apply again as long as you have Global Roaming Service.

5. Is there any extra fee?

No extra flat rate plan or monthly fee. See below for Voice Call and communication fees.

6. Can I use my phone immediately on board?

On compatible flights, look for “Mobile phone use not allowed” sign (like “Fasten your seatbelt” sign). When this sign is off, you can use your phone. However, use is prohibited at the following stages of a flight:

While aircraft is parked at airport terminal
During takeoff and landing, when electronic devices must be switched off
While flight is in Japanese airspace
While aircraft is in a country that prohibits in-flight use of mobile phone

Service available while aircraft is at cruising altitude in airspace with certain conditions.

7. Can I use any SoftBank product?

You can use In-Flight Mobile Phone Service with SoftBank Global Roaming compatible handset (3G) or Disney Mobile on SoftBank handsets. Service is also compatible with iPhone 3G and Smart Phone (SoftBank X series). However, you cannot use In-Flight Mobile Phone Service with Global Roaming compatible handset (3G).
