For SoftBank 730SC Users
September 04, 2009
Thank you very much for choosing SoftBank.
We have to inform the SoftBank 730SC users of a problem found in the SoftBank 730SC handset. Please refer to the details of the problems described below.
1. Description of the problem
If September 2009 calendar is set on the standby screen by selecting "Calendar (1 month)," the handset becomes inoperable, repeatedly displaying "Please wait" → "the SoftBank logo" → "Checking USIM …."
To stay away from this problem, please avoid setting September 2009 calendar on the standby screen.
Calendars of October 2009 onward will not cause this problem.
2. Recovery method
While the handset is inoperable, it keeps displaying "Please wait…" → "the SoftBank logo" → "Checking USIM …." However, in about a several minutes to 20 minutes, the handset will display the standby screen. When the standby screen is displayed, choose "Menu" → "Settings"→ "Display settings"→ "Clock/Calendar." In the "Clock/Calendar" settings, for this time, choose any setting option other than "Calendar (1 month)." Then, the handset will recover to its normal operable condition.
If this does not work, please bring the handset to your nearest SoftBank shop.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this will cause to our customers.
SoftBank Mobile will continue its efforts to provide our customers with good products and services.
Thank you always for being loyal customers.
