The packet transmission fee will be lowered to ¥0.0525/packet, effective April 11, 2011.

Please note that the flat-fee for this service will apply even if no data/packets are used in a month.

Subscription Effective Date

For new SoftBank subscribers, the Unlimited Packet Discount S for SMARTPHONE service will be effective from the day that the SoftBank subscription is made (the flat rate will be prorated). For current SoftBank subscribers, the service will take effect from the following billing month.

For current SoftBank users not subscribed to the packet flat-fee service, the Unlimited Packet Discount S for SMARTPHONE service will be applied from the first day of the billing month in which the subscription was made in the case that the user also subscribes to the “Simple Select Video”, ”Easy Access Music”, “Easy Access Music Gold　”, and “Viewn” services.

• SoftBank SMARTPHONES perform data transfers automatically and periodically according to software/application settings.
  Automatically syncing data is useful as it allows software/applications to use and provide the latest data, however it also incurs data charges.
• Please note that automatic syncing is enabled by default when you purchase your SoftBank SMARTPHONE.
  (Example of automatic data transfers)
  Syncing calendars/contacts/weather/news, automatic updates of applications, date/time, retrieving location information, etc.
• When overseas, automatic data transfers can incur higher data charges (around a few thousand yen per day) and for this reason,
  it is recommended to set the carrier to one that supports the Global Roaming Packet Flat Rate service (by default, data roaming is disabled).
• Depending on automatic data transfer and other settings, data usage may reach the upper limit.
  By default, automatic syncing is enabled and this alone will cause data usage to go over the lower limit when using 3G networks.
  Please change settings as necessary.
•   Automatic data transfers: SoftBank SMARTPHONES perform data transfers automatically to provide the latest features,
  contents, and better usability to users.
• In this service, traffic information is gathered, analyzed, and accumulated for each data transfer in order to improve the network quality. In addition, data transfer may be regulated according to SoftBank’s communication restrictions. For details, please see here.
• This service is only applicable for SoftBank SMARTPHONES (For X series, the latest purchase must be a X series).
• This service can be used with all price plans.
• The data transfer of this service covers S! mail (MMS), Web access, PC Site Browser (including PC Mail) usage, and PC Site Direct (X series) usage.
• Certain contents may be subject to additional fees.
• Rates for S! mail (MMS), Web access, PC Site Browser (including PC Mail) usage, and PC Site Direct (X series) usage are ¥0.084/packet.
• The packet transmission fee will be lowered to ¥0.0525/packet, effective April 11, 2011. For existing subscribers, this change will come into effect as listed below:
  If your closure date is the 10th of every month: April 11, 2011.
  If your closure date is the 20th of every month: April 21, 2011.
  If your closure date is the last day of every month: May 1, 2011.
• Users of this service must also subscribe to S! Basic Pack (¥315/month).
