Subscription Effective Date

If also applying for a new subscription for a SoftBank or Disney Mobile on SoftBank Phone, Family Discount will apply starting the day after subscription. (The same applies when terminating a White Plan Family Discount 24 plan).

Attention

White Plan Family Discount 24 is the designation for Family Discount (White Plan). "Family" here indicates family members who have subscribed to SoftBank's Family Discount or Disney Mobile on SoftBank's White Plan Family Discount 24 (D) plan.

  • Family Discount can consist of other plans or Disney Mobile on SoftBank lines. In this case, the discount of the Family Discount will depend on the subscribed plan.
  • A single line should be designated the representative line during application.
  • The approval of all family members included in the Family Discount group must be obtained by the subscribing party before applying for Family Discount or additional lines.
  • In principle, the subscription must be taken out in the name of the party who will use the line. If the customer is under 12 years of age, the subscription must be enacted in a parent or guardian's name.
  • When applying, documentation is required to verify that the party subscribing to the line is a family member.
  • Procedures to change contract details such as price plan etc. or for emergency cancellation due to loss or theft are all accepted by request of the subscribing party.
  • If the name of a Family Discount subscriber changes, or if an invoice is to be divided separately, you must visit SoftBank Shop to handle required procedures.
  • Obligation for payment of monthly call charge is borne by the person to whom the invoice is sent. However, even after changes to the invoiced party are made on the relevant all-in-one invoice, the subscribing party, as a subscriber, may not avoid obligation for payment.
  • If a customer paying the monthly billing charges along with those of another main line subscribes to the Itemized Call Charge Statement service, the Itemized Call Charge Statement for all of the main lines will be sent as a single billing statement to one address. If payment from customers with multiple lines is not received by the due date, a notice will be sent after the due date has passed and service will be suspended for all lines under the billing statement.
  • Family Discount only applies to calls made entirely within Japan.
  • Corporate customers may not apply for the White Plan Family Discount 24. (They may apply for White Plan Corporate Discount 24.)

Applicability of Mobile Number Portability (MNP)

  • If other lines to which Family Discount applies are cancelled, including phone numbers with MNP, call charges to the relevant lines will not be eligible for discounts from the time of cancellation.
  • Application of Family Discount can be confirmed on your Itemized Call Chart Statement and other documents.
  • When MNP commences, customers included in the same Family Discount may learn the contract status of other members of the family.

Documentation Required for Application

  • 1. Identification for the representative line subscriber: One of the following:
    (A) [Certificate of Alien Registration or Resident Card] + overseas passport
    (B) health insurance card + (certificate of residence or public utilities receipt or other printed item issued by a bureaucratic institution)
    (C) student card + health insurance card
    (D) driver's license
    (E) Japanese passport
    (F) physical disability certificate or welfare education certificate or mental disability welfare certificate
    (G) credit card + health insurance card; plus
  • 2. Identification for family members subscribing to other lines: one of the above (A to G) verifying the same address as another member of Family Discount group.
  • When an addition is made to an existing Family Discount, SoftBank will verify registration information for other subscribers belonging to the same Family Discount group.
  • When family members with the same surname are living separately, a regional insurance certificate is required (which bears the name of another subscriber belonging to the same Family Discount group).
  • Some customers may not be eligible to apply for Family Discount, based on SoftBank's criteria.

Applicability of Family Discount

  • Even after Family Discount has been approved, in cases where SoftBank judges by its own criteria that Family Discount should not apply, some or all of the relevant line(s) in the group will be removed from eligibility for Family Discount.
  • If calls continuously extend over long periods, or in other cases where SoftBank judges that customer behavior may affect transmissions, SoftBank may terminate the call in question.
