Carry over of usage period of other mobile carriers
This service allows you to carry over your usage period of your previous mobile carrier, in case you have ported into SoftBank Mobile using the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) scheme. In this way, you can enjoy the discount on your basic monthly fee to be provided based on the usage period.
- This service is provided under the condition that you have ported into SoftBank Mobile using the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) system.
- The copy of the document which proves your usage period in your previous carrier (such as your monthly bill) is required for application.
- This service is for White Plan, Gold Plan, Orange Plan and Blue Plan.
Pricing of Internet Services
- E-mail cannot be sent or received using SMS. You do not need to apply for using SMS.
- Your packet communication fee is calculated based on the total of data volume from each service.
- Your handset display does not show the actual data volume because the actual data includes the information required for display and transmissions, in addition to the volume of letters or images shown on the display.
- Some of contents are not available depending on your handset models.
The mail notification includes the mail address, title and message (up 50 full-size letters).
A message from our system will be added to the mail notification in the following cases.
- 1. The capacity of your mail box exceeds 10M bytes.
- 2. The number of stored messages in your mail box exceeds 100.
- 3. The stored messages reach 80% of your mail box capacity in terms of volume or number of messages.
- 4. Your account receives a message with attachment.
- 5. Our system has deleted an attached file of 1M bytes or bigger data volume.
3G High-speed

3G High-speed is a high-speed download packet commutation service, complying with 3GPP standard. In case of using a compatible handset in the 3G High-speed area, the maximum packet communication speed will be 3.6Mbps in downstream*(7.2Mbps* or 1.8Mbps* at the maximum in downstream depending on areas and models).
- For using S! Mail (MMS) or Yahoo! Keitai, S! Basic Pack (monthly fee: ¥315 (tax included)) needs to be subscribed to.
- * 3G High-speed applies the best effort method, so the commutation may be slowed down or disturbed depending on the congestion and other commutation environment factors.
PC Site Browser

- This service is available only with PC Site Browser compatible models.
- Communication fees of PC Site Browser depends on your price plan.
- For using this service, S! Basic Pack (monthly fee: ¥315 (tax included)) needs to be subscribed to.

PC Site Direct

- In Packet Flat-rate (Blue Plan), Packet Flat-rate full (Blue Plan), Packet Flat-rate (Orange Plan(WX)), and Packet Flat-rate Light(Orange Plan(WX)), the commutations using this service will not be included into their inclusive airtime.
USIM Card
- Your handset is usable only when your USIM card is inserted. Make sure you insert the USIM card for using your handset properly.
- * You may be able to ask your SoftBank Crew to make your handset usable without your USIM card inserted for some models if you have made all the payment.
- The USIM card is an IC chip with the memory of your mobile number and other information. Your communication fees will be billed to the mobile number of your USIM card.
- The USIM card is usable even when inserted to other handsets. In case of loss or theft of your handset (with USIM card inserted), therefore, please make sure to immediately make an emergency suspension by contacting our “Contact Center for malfunction, accident, theft and loss*” regardless of your model (whether it’s for domestic use only or global roaming supported).
- Your USIM card belongs to SoftBank Mobile. Please return to SoftBank Mobile at the time of cancellation of your contract.

The handset upgrade
[In case of changing from a SoftBank 3G model to another SoftBank 3G model]
PIN for operating your new handset will be the one from the original setting of the new handset (written on the handset manual).
- * Your request for handset upgrade will not be accepted if you have delay in your bill payment.
The transfer and succession of contract ownership
- In case of the transfer of contract ownership, ¥1,890 (tax included) for each contract will be billed to the transferee as the handling fee for transfer approval. It will be added to the bill of the month in which such request was made and billed in the following billing month. There is no handling fee required in case of the succession of contract ownership.
- The transferee shall succeed both the right and obligation that the transferor had.
- The date of usage transfer approval will be either the day or the following day that SoftBank Mobile approves the ownership transfer after the request is made at SoftBank Mobile Shops. In case you apply for the ownership transfer on the last day of a month, therefore, the date of usage transfer approval will be the following day (the first day of the next month). The date of succession approval will be the day the request is applied.
- * The date of approval may be affected by some factors such as SoftBank Mobile’s system maintenance and changed to another day.
- Unbilled communications fees up to the previous day of the date of usage transfer approval will be billed to the transferor. The communication fees on the date of usage transfer approval and after will be billed to the transferee in the billing month following the application. In case of succession of ownership, communication fees even before the date of succession will be billed to the successor.
- In case of New Super Bonus Contract
In case of transferring or succeeding a New Super Bonus contract, its benefits, monthly discounts and others will be transferred to the transferee or successor. The monthly installment payments for your handset, if any, will be also transferred or succeeded. Please note that the monthly installment payment will not be prorated based on the number of days (the whole commutation fees of the month of approval will be billed to the transferee both in cases of transfer and succession).
Change of the telephone number
- The handling fee for changing the mobile number (¥1,575 (tax included)) will be billed in addition to the usage bill of the month that the number has been changed.
- All the stored voice mails will be erased after your mobile number has been changed, so make sure to check the voice mails before applying for telephone number change. Also you need to set up your voice mail account after changing your telephone number because your previous setting is to be reset.
- The subscription of Number Block service will be carried over, but the information of telephone numbers that you have been restricting will be erased. The calls from the telephone numbers you have been restricting, therefore, will be connected, so please set it up again if necessary.
- The subscription of Internet service will be carried over, but the function set up will be erased. So please set it up again if necessary.
- In case S! Basic Pack [for SoftBank 3G] + S! Address book Back-up are subscribed to, Back-up information will be erased.
- In case S! Basic Pack [for SoftBank 3G] + S! Friend’s Status are subscribed to, some part of registered information (S! Friend’s Status member list, etc) will be erased.
- In case of using an original mail address, the same original mail address cannot be selected. Also all the messages yet to be received will be erased after your mobile number has been changed, so make sure to check the mails addressed to you before applying for telephone number change.
- In case of subscribing to paid web contents, they will be automatically cancelled upon the change of telephone numbers. You need to sign up again to the content provider from your mobile phone after changing numbers.
- Data in the memory card protected by the copy right (copy prohibited) In case of using a handset with a memory card, the data in the memory card protected by the copy right (copy prohibited) will become unusable. Make sure to store them into the memory inside the main body of your mobile phone before applying for telephone number change.
The cancellation of your contract
- USIM card must be returned in principle after cancelling your SoftBank 3G contract. The way to return it will be explained at the time of cancellation.
- In case of cancelling a contract with New Super Bonus, your remaining monthly installment payments based on your installment payment contract will be continuously billed.
- If the contract is cancelled in the middle of Monthly Discount term, the provision of discounts will end in the previous month of the cancellation.
Mobile Number Portability(MNP)
- MNP Porting-out Fee (¥2,100 (tax included)) will be billed along with the bill of the billing month of porting out (including the day you sign up into the recipient carrier).
- If we find any false statement in the application for porting-in or out in the MNP scheme, we may have either your contract cancelled or your phone number changed.
- Please ask your previous carrier in regard to the handling of old USIM card.
- Please understand in advance that porting-out procedures cannot be cancelled by the previous carrier once your sign-up application has been processed by the recipient carrier.
The purchase of charged contents
In case minor users purchase paid contents, please pay attention to the following points.
- In case minor users purchase paid contents, they need to get consent from their parent or legal guardian.
- For the subscribers of “Web Usage Restriction” or “Yahoo! Kids” to purchase paid contents, their pass code numbers will be required.
SoftBank Mobile Ring Back Tone
In this service, you can recognize if the calls you are making are connected to SoftBank Mobile or Disney Mobile on SoftBank, by checking the following ring tones.
- You will hear two beep sounds of SoftBank Mobile Ring Back Tone, followed by regular ring back tones “prrr…” (depending on connection status, you may hear only one beep or three beep sounds)
- If you are calling someone who is using the call transfer function or the global roaming service, you may not be able to recognize whether or not your call is applied to the call rate for SoftBank Mobile to another SoftBank Mobile, just by checking SoftBank Mobile Ring Back Tone.
- When you are using the global roaming service and making a call, the voice call fee for calling someone in Japan will be charged even if you hear SoftBank Mobile Ring Back Tone.
- If you are calling someone who transfer calls, you will hear the ring back tone of the carrier of the ultimate destination (this rule, however, may not be applied depending on the provider of the call transfer service). The chart below shows are relations between the voice call fees applied to the caller and whether you hear SoftBank Mobile Ring Back Tone when calling a transferred call.

Missed Call Notification
In this service, you will be notified if you have missed a call due to the power being off or the area out-of-service. The notification will be made by mail (no charge for receiving) after your handset becomes accessible.
- ”Missed Call Notification” is available while activating the Voice Mail Service.
- This function is available only for SoftBank 3G.
- The initial setting of this function at the time of signing up to SoftBank 3G is “Active,” but it can be changed to “Inactive” by dialing 1414 (the special number for Missed Call Notification setting, no voice call charge).
“Universal Service Charge”
With the start of Universal Service System, we ask SoftBank Mobile users to pay a certain amount* of “Universal Service Charge” per number every month.

- The Universal Service System is a system that makes all telephone companies take appropriate responsibility by managing the expenses for maintaining an environment that allows any household in Japan to have equal and stable usage of the universal services (fixed-line telephones, public telephones, emergency calls and other telephone services essential to society) provided by NTT East/NTT West.
- Because the obligatory fees per line covered by telephone companies are to be reviewed by the Telecommunications Carriers Association semiannually, the amount each customer pays may change accordingly. For details on Universal Service System, please access the Telecommunications Carriers Association’s website (http://www.tca.or.jp/) or recorded guidance message/fax service (03-3539-4830).
Exchange of information among carriers
[Information exchange among mobile phone, PHS carriers regarding non-payment]
Information regarding customers whose bills are left unpaid after cancelling their subscriptions is shared among mobile phone and PHS carriers. This information is used at the time of application and applications may be refused on the basis of this information.
[The exchange of information relating to the sending of unsolicited mails between carriers providing mobile phone and PHS services]
The sending of bulk mail that violates the “Act on Regulation of Transmission of Specified Electronic Mail” or the sending of mail that may hinder the sending and receiving of other electronic mail will result in suspension of usage (including contract cancellation). The information of customers who have had their usage suspended (including those who have had their contracts terminated) for the above reasons form March 1st, 2006 onward will be exchanged between the various mobile phone and PHS service companies. This information will be used when examining the applications for contracts; therefore we may be unable to accept the applications of customers who fit the above criteria.
[The exchange of usage termination information between mobile phone/PHS service providers based on the Act for the Prevention of Illegal Mobile Phone Use*]
As of March 2009, based on the Act for the Prevention of Illegal Mobile Phone Use, mobile phone/PHS service providers exchange information on customer (those who have had their usage terminated in certain circumstances) who have been subject to usage termination after a request for personal identification of a subscriber line by law enforcement agencies that could not be verified. Since this information is used for the subscription investigation at the time of contract application, applications from such customers may not be accepted.

The prevention of unlawful contracts and personal identification
- In order to prevent the usage of handsets obtained with unlawful contracts that use counterfeit documentation, etc. in crimes such as bank transfer fraud, SoftBank Mobile is carrying out the following actions.
- 1. Thorough ID screening using original copies of ID documents
Note that process of signing contracts may require some time. - 2. In case SoftBank Mobile decides that the information shown on the driver’s license, etc. provided at the time of contract application needs to be confirmed
The information shown on the driver’s license, etc. may be provided to police authorities, etc. Please understand in advance that it is for more accurate ID screening. - 3. Voice call and other services may be restricted for the handsets unlawfully obtained*.
Please note that the handsets obtained outside the official SoftBank Mobile outlets may become the subject of restriction.
- * Unlawfully obtained handsets includes ones obtained using unlawful means such as theft, fraud or other means that violate laws(violation of Act for the Prevention of Illegal Mobile Phone User, document forgery, etc), ones with payment debt (including installment payment debt through a third party) not being fulfilled or with high probability of arrears.
- A customer making forged or modified identification documents and using such documents or another person’s name when applying for a contract falls under document forgery crime(section 155 of the criminal code) or fraud crime(section 246 of the criminal code).
- Using falsified personal information (name/address/date of birth) at the time of application for a mobile phone, transfer of one’s own mobile phone without prior consent, and transfer/receipt of another person’s mobile phone violates the Act for the Prevention of Illegal Mobile Phone Use.
Installment contract and the third-party credit contract
in accordance with the third party sales credit policy for each commodity
Installment contracts and third-party credit contracts are limited to three for each 3G-communication/4GLTE/4G-communication service contract.
Also note that, depending on the results of our investigation on your credit status, we may be unable to accept applications for new installment contracts or third-party credit contracts even if you have less than three of them.
<About the products you have purchased>
- The need for a down payment and its amount vary depending on the shop; ask your SoftBank Mobile Crew for more information.
- You will still be liable for all remaining payments for your mobile handset even if you upgrade your model or cancel your mobile communications contract during the payment period.
<Credit information bureaus>
- During the review of applications for installment contracts, we will inquire about the subscriber’s information/report it to credit information bureaus.
- If you conclude an installment contract, your contract terms and payment information will be reported to credit information bureaus (including information on delinquency).
<Information on delinquency>
- If credit information bureaus have information on payment delinquency, etc. you may not be able to make other credit contracts.
- Information on payment delinquency remains in the records of credit information bureaus for five years after repayment, and may be used for investigations by member institutions.
<Cases where the payer and the subscriber do not coincide>

- The subscriber’s data, and not the payer’s, will be used for inquiries/reports to credit information bureaus.
- Cases where the subscriber is a minor and the payer exercising parental authority fails to make payments will be treated as delinquency on part of the minor who is the subscriber.
